Background
About Matthew Flocco
matthewflocco.com I am a community builder first and foremost, and strive to elevate untold stories in mainstream media, especially those belonging to the LGBTQ+ community. Driven entertainment professional and community-builder whose diligence yields first-rate and timely results. Proven record of implementing strategies for long-term growth and securing partnerships between corporations and individuals. Excel at supporting others in high-stress and fast-paced settings. As a gay man who is white and cis, it is my strong belief that we have a societal and individual responsibility to elevate the voices of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), Women, and LGBT+(especially those that identify outside binary norms), as well as differently-abled individuals. This includes creating space for each of the above underrepresented groups on administrative levels, not simply a forefront on stage and screen. Graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications at Temple University in 2012. Due to the broad nature of the program, I was essentially able to design my own major, and most of my coursework was in theater, journalism, television and film. I was involved in many extracurricular activities, and my two proudest achievements were as a co-founder of Insomnia Theatre and developer, producer, director and writer of a student film about gentrification in North Philadelphia. I also studied abroad in Rome, Italy and worked for the Temple News. After graduating from Temple University in 2012, I worked for Disney Cruise Line as an entertainment host and actor. I knew from then on that I wanted to travel and work in this field for the rest of my life. In 2015, I left Disney and began a professional career as a full-time artist and entertainment administrator. Be it through creation or administration, I aspire to serve the stories of marginalized artists and be a vessel for the industry I love.
