And the Kick is Good! Sports have been a huge part of my life, from strict discipline to amazing bonds that I have formed, football and soccer have turned me into one of the best versions of myself. I go out everyday and I push myself, harder than anyone expects. From waking up at 5 am for practice, to getting home at 2 am from games, the last 4 years of Varsity Soccer and Football has taught me so much. I learned the values of hard work, communication, compromise, leadership, sacrifice, and commitment. I always thought I would go on to play sports, but at the same time I pushed myself in school. History came easy to me. I knew where most countries and capitals were in the world for fun, not because I was required. I played games based around history, and I would frequently read history books, and watch history documentaries. I never knew I wanted to be a politician until the end of the global pandemic that changed everyone's lives. A switch turned on and I realized that I wanted to be involved in the political process. I was tired of seeing both sides of the aisle complain about each other and refuse to work together. The weaponization of the filibuster by both parties, the lying and misleading the public, and the inability to be proper role models for our youth convinced me that I needed to be apart of the change that I wanted to see in government. If I wanted things to get better, I would have to work hard to change the system. I realized that I would be amazing for the job. I have all the qualities that are needed. I can speak and communicate with others. I come from culturally diverse background as I lived in Mexico, and travelled the world at a young age. I have seen communities struggle as rich politicians line up their pockets. I understand the nature of humans and how they seek to exploit the weak. Due to my sports background, communication was a useful skill that I learned, and one that will come in handy in politics. Whether it is communicating with the other party, the nations people, or foreign governments, communication is the foundation of what politics is about. And it is something that I want to be apart of, because if the world is to move forward, it will need strong leaders who can lead the world into the next era.
