About Matthew Gardner

I'm currently a lead software engineer at Buckeye Interactive, where I help growing businesses leverage technology to solve modern problems. I have worked on a number of web and mobile projects in many stacks, but primarily React, Laravel, Flutter, and Vue. I am very familiar with AWS and Docker but also have experience with Azure and Google Cloud. I am passionate about Agile development and push for improvements to our process wherever we can make them. At work, I'm hard-working, goal-oriented, and process-driven. As a person, I'm laid back and flexible. I enjoy working in a team environment and I've worked in client-facing positions long enough to be able to explain complicated processes to people outside the field without much difficulty. I also have plenty of practical, diverse programming knowledge to bring to my team. Lastly, I fill a Lead Engineer role on many of the web and Flutter projects BI creates and maintains, running the gamut from small to big, new to legacy, and everything in between. My previous roles were an internship and a subsequent full-time position at Target Inc. In those roles I worked on a variety of projects and teams, including a backend team serving some of the most popular customer-facing services at Target (Java / Springboot 2) and a cloud infrastructure team where I helped to shape the development and deployment platform across the company.
