I am a school leader who believes that all children should be educated in a way that prepares them to be lifelong learners in a global society. As technology and connectivity continue to evolve, the need to collaborate with a diverse population increases. Children should be prepared to be successful global citizens. The curriculum of a 21st century school should have at its base a focus on diversity and global conscience. An understanding of the individual and the individual's relationship with the local and global community is increasingly important. I encourage a supportive school culture that allows for creative teaching and emotionally safe learning environments. This allows children to learn together to consider and grapple with the complex issues of our global society. Here are some specific examples of how I promote a 21st century education in my schools: I ensure that our curriculum is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and includes a focus on diversity and global conscience. I support teachers in using creative teaching methods that engage students and encourage them to think critically and solve problems. I create a safe and supportive school culture where students feel comfortable expressing their ideas and asking questions. I encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities that allow them to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I provide opportunities for students to learn about global issues and how they can make a difference in the world. I believe that every child deserves a quality education that prepares them for success in the 21st century. I am committed to providing my students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to be global citizens who can make a positive impact on the world.
