About Matthew Grindle

Hi, I'm Matt. I'm a chemist. I like working with computers and magnets to investigate the world around us. I'm a curious, imaginative, and dedicated researcher looking to make the world a little better. I like to do in-depth research, whether that is for my next project or just to find my wife the right gift for her birthday. Digging through research papers, SOPs, and technical articles makes me feel at-home, and I like to use my findings to improve work for me and my collaborators. Over the course of 10 years researching and teaching, I have become an expert in communicating chemistry and physics in a relatable way. Data often does not speak for itself, so I dedicate myself to explaining difficult concepts simply- Flexible and versatile researcher with expertise in physical inorganic chemistry and computational biochemistry resulting in 3 peer-reviewed publications across multiple fields of science - Ability to work collaboratively with a team to perform in-depth characterizations of metal-centered complexes as evidenced by findings in 7 poster presentations and 2 oral research presentations- Strong communication skills with expertise in explaining difficult topics to non-scientists as evidenced by teaching 500 students resulting in their completion of general chemistry courses matthew.p.grindle@gmail.com
