About Matthew Hale

I grew up in the construction industry and starting working as a framer and trim carpenter for my family's construction company. I worked my way up to superintendent and started working in the office estimating costs. I studied Business and Construction Management at Weber State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. I worked my way through college selling homes and buying land and then I started my own construction company in 2007 which was just in time to watch the economy crash. Since 2013, I've worked with Woodside Homes as a Purchasing Agent. I enjoy the team and the corporate culture at Woodside Homes and enjoy learning different aspects of the business from the incredible people that work there. I was hired on with Destination Homes working in their Purchasing and Estimating department. I've been doing a lot of the same things I did when I was at Woodside Homes only with a lot less over site. I also prepare a lot of reports and run our weekly operations meeting where we discuss variances, miscellaneous issue that we're having in the field and how to improve operations. Through both my education and vocation, as well as my extensive background in construction, I have developed the experience to excel in construction industry practices and general customer service. In purchasing, my ability to go above and beyond my job description has not only developed my character but has resulted in thousands of dollars saved in direct costs and thousands more in recovered costs. I am self-motivated, able to prioritize and manage time, and skilled at building relationships with trade partners and clients. I have obtained the ability to build relationships with customers and other team members and to resolve conflicts on a daily basis.
