About Matthew Hamilton
Completed a PhD in political theory at University of Toronto (2019). My major area of study is political theory, my minor is public policy. Research interests include aesthetics, critical theory, contemporary continental philosophy (in particular 'philosophies of difference' and German Idealism) and philosophy of law. My dissertation, Critique and Praxis: On Fugitive Politics, stages a conversation between the critical theory of Theodor Adorno and Walter Benjamin and contemporary radical democratic theory in order to rethink the stakes and potential of contemporary political movements.
