The central interest of my research group is elucidation of the molecular and cellular correlates of age-associated pathological wound healing. We focus on endocrine aspects of ageing and skin physiology. Specific projects include: • Micro, macro and nano-functional characterisation of skin ageing and hormone deficiency. • Hair follicles, stem cells and wound repair. • Microbiome, host response and chronic wounds. • Desmosomal adhesion and PKC signalling. • Hormonal regulation of immune cell polarisation and tissue recruitment. • Ageing, injury induced senescence and chronic wound pathology. • Developing improved chronic wound models.
