About Matthew Hill

The last 15 years spent in Tasmanian State Government within corrections and ambulance public safety roles, with the highlight of my career spending eight months as a Subject Matter Expert for a new implementation of a Computer Aided Dispatch solution. Prior to this I had similar experiences in New South Wales also in corrections and defence contracting with a large multinational with front line management experience. I have been dedicated to the Team Leader role within Ambulance Tasmania’s State Operations Centre over the last four years being tasked to a multitude of roles in training and leadership.I enjoy problem solving in high risk and stress operations. I am confident and comfortable multi-tasking in high pressure environments, particularly those involving competing priorities. I have been well equipped through past and current employment to deal with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques, particularly with vulnerable or unstable people. I strive for professionalism and integrity in all dealings with co-workers and outside agencies and look to positively influence others to do the same.I am comfortable in leading a team on my own to achieve business objectives or following direction from innovative superiors who I look to work with collaboratively. Being adaptable to change I am able to move in new directions quickly without delay.My career achievements have been focussed on delivering high quality, professional public safety outcomes from within team environments. This has given me extensive experience in all areas of organisational management, from dealing with clients face to face in life threatening situations to management of resources to effect lifesaving solutions.
