About Matthew Hoffman

Matthew is a former graduate from the University of California, Davis. There, he earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering and his B.S. in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Sustainability in the Built Environment. Matthew continued his education at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning his M.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering with a Leaders in Sustainability Certificate. Within UCLA's Civil & Environmental Engineering department, Matthew has worked in several labs. His work consisted of antibiotic-resistant pathogens in urban runoff and stormwater and on electrochemical water treatment. He also assisted as a teacher's assistant in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department. Currently Matthew works with the City of Santa Monica as a Civil Engineering Assistant. His work consists of performing public work plan checks for off-site improvements, utilities, and urban runoff associated with single family, multifamily, commercial, and industrial permit applications and development agreements. In the Land Development group, he is also involved in reviewing computations, design plans, and 'as-built' drawings; prepares quantity estimates and project schedules for storm drains, water mains, sewers, site improvements, streets, sidewalks, ADA ramps, utilities, and various structures.
