About Matthew Howell

As a UT Finance student, I am passionate about financial analysis and real-world business solutions. I have gained valuable skills and experience in investment banking, market research, and data science through various internships and projects. Currently, I am working as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Fortitude Advisors, where I created an in-depth presentation on the Sports Technology industry, which was presented to the company board members and helped the company gain visibility in a previously unknown space. Previously, I worked as a Research/Data Science Intern at Integra FEC, a consulting firm specializing in investigating fraud in financial markets. There, I assisted in drafting slides for client presentations and helped them understand a detailed financial model. I also have basic corporate accounting skills from my internship at Wright Asphalt Products Co in 2019. I excel at learning new things and collaborating with others while developing complex financial solutions. I am also proficient in various tools and software, such as Excel, Python, SQL, and Tableau. My goal is to pursue a career in the financial industry and leverage my skills and experience to create value and impact for my clients and stakeholders. Texas is my favorite place in the world. I am originally from Houston, but enjoy being in every city in the state. As a 4th generation UT student, I am proud to be part of a top business school in the country. I am also very passionate about sports, especially college football and golf. I keep my own rankings model for college football, which I update weekly.
