About Matthew Keating

I am a veteran teacher with over ten years of diverse experience, looking to leverage my expertise and newly acquired Master’s in Educational Technology with an emphasis in Adult Learning and Training in order to target areas of improvement in the educational field. As I was one of the early adopters of a wide variety of technology in my classroom, I have led multiple training and professional development sessions on their use and acted as one of the technology leads within my district. I have current experience in the field using a variety of technologies and platforms, and a strong desire to advance my education in this arena. I believe in continual growth within the field of education, and to that end pursued my Master’s degree in Educational Technology with an Emphasis in Adult Learning and Training. The focus of my studies revolved around curriculum design and best practices in relation to utilizing data in both the classroom and adult learning environments. In my prior role, I was a part of a number of data collection initiatives and have assisted in the academic growth of our school from a “C” to an “A+” rated site in 2020. These initiatives were also areas of leadership for me on our campus. I was our sites’ Individual Language Learner Plan Coordinator (ILLP), a member of our Instructional Practices Inventory (IPI) data collection team, and was named our sites’ Instructional Coach in 2019. In these roles, as well as in the classroom, I have leveraged data in order to help make more informed decisions for myself and others on our campus and within our district. Ultimately, if we are able to actively interpret data, and utilize it to help drive curriculum design we can enhance student achievement. I am also a member of our District Career and Technology Education Advisory Board and District Technology Committee. These roles help provide leadership on district-wide technology standards adoption. Overall, I have a strong desire to pursue social and academic change for the community around me.
