About Matthew Kimani

Mr. Kimani, a Certified Public Accountant, brings over 24 years of experience in finance and auditing, including twenty years in managing international development programs of which 11 years were CDC-funded programs. He has overseen cumulative annual portfolios of over $500 million; individual projects of over $ 25 million, 33 sub-grantees at a time with budgets ranging between and $5.5m and F&A teams of over 33 staff. Currently, as Director of F&A for UMB/CHIEB in Kenya, Mr. Kimani is responsible for financial, compliance and audit, grants, procurement and logistics, human capital management. Prior to that as F&A Director at ICAP, Mr. Kimani oversaw finance and administration for an annual portfolio of $20M in funding from CDC and USAID, up to 25 subgrantees and team of 30 staff, with 4 direct reports. Mr. Kimani works to strengthen internal controls, training accountants and field office staff, and budgeting and risk management.
