About Matthew Labrie

I am Matthew D. LaBrie, a litigation partner at Orrick's Boston office. My practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, class action defense, cybersecurity litigation, and incident response. In my commercial litigation practice, I represent clients in both federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels. I routinely assist clients throughout the litigation process, including motions practice, discovery, witness preparation, and trial, with a particular focus on class action defense. My litigation experience is broad, covering data security litigation, commercial and contractual disputes across various industries, shareholder derivative litigation, class action defense, and commercial arbitration. In my cybersecurity practice, I counsel clients worldwide through all stages of a privacy or data security incident, navigating relevant legal regimes, managing the response and investigation, and handling any resulting litigation or regulatory investigation. I spent a year in Orrick's London office, where I developed and coordinated Orrick's global data breach incident response and litigation capabilities. I also maintain an active pro bono practice, assisting individual clients with family law matters, advocating for veterans' and immigrants' rights, and representing human trafficking survivors.
