About Matthew Lam

Matt completed his M.A. in Counselling Psychology at Western University. He is a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) having completed his placement at King’s University College alongside working at an inpatient addictions treatment center prior to becoming a psychotherapist. Matt uses an integrative approach drawing upon multiple evidence-based modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Strength Based Counselling. Matt has provided psycho-educational groups during his time at the addictions treatment center where he helped individuals learn to manage withdrawal symptoms, regulate emotions, work on relationship skills and learn more about the mind-body connection. Alongside his experience working with individuals with addictions, Matt also enjoys playing sports and has played at the semi-professional level and aspires to help other athletes break through the mental barriers of sports.
