About Matthew Large
My PhD research has focused on transparent electrode films and solution-processable nanomaterial hybrid systems. Although currently directed towards capacitive touch sensors, this work has applications in energy harvesting and storage devices. I have experience with metal nanowires and solution-processed 2-D nanomaterials such as graphene, molybdenum disulfide and boron nitride. My team working skills have been cultivated through projects with external companies (M-Solv, Thomas Swan), researchers within the group and from other departments. Collaborations have covered a variety of topics (cell scaffolds, latex polymer composites, Raman analysis of strain and defects in crystalline silicon). I constantly strive to grow and apply my knowledgebase to new material systems.
