About Matthew Lippert

Hi, I'm Matthew (Matt), a recent graduate in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of California, San Diego. I've been fascinated by cities and urban development from a young age—an interest that led me to pursue a career in city and regional planning with a focus on permitting, sustainable housing development, and climate-forward strategies for urban redevelopment. During my academic and internship experiences, I've worked directly with General Plans, Non-Coastal and Coastal Zoning Ordinances, and developed technical skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Excel, Microsoft Teams, and PowerPoint. I also have a foundational understanding of Rhino and Canva. I'm particularly passionate about sustainable systems, affordable housing, and climate action within urban environments. As I begin my professional journey, I’m eager to contribute to meaningful development projects—especially those at the intersection of equity, resilience, and innovation in city planning.
