About Matthew Lober

After earning a scholarship in computer science at Glenelg High School when I graduated in 2016, I decided to major in computer science at University of Maryland, College Park. I had my first internship the summer before I started at UMD in 2016 when I worked for Herrick Tech Labs in Germantown Maryland as an engineering intern. At Herrick Tech Labs I contributed to a data visualization UI in HTML and Java. My second internship was the next summer in 2017 at G3 Technologies in Mount Airy Maryland. My first year at G3 I wrote unit tests for TCP and UDP connections in Python and C for data streaming devices. The following summer in 2018 I worked at G3 Technologies again but this time I was constructing deb packages for shipment of software and optimizing radio related algorithms. In the summer of 2019 I joined G3 Technologies for my last engineering internship where I developed signal processing software and configured testing machines. I have graduated from UMD and am now a full time software engineer at G3 Technologies. In my time at G3 I have been using Python to process the middle ground between raw digital signal data and readable information displayed on a GUI. This process includes the usage of restAPI, redis messaging, mongoDB, GNURadio and testing scripts using cronjob. Python has helped me convert raw data streams into an object oriented structure that shows easy to understand information to the end user.
