About Matthew Lomastro

Having close experience with physicians and research scientists, I have learned to effectively work with a team of people to plan research designs, troubleshoot issues with the experiments, and interpret results. The majority of my experience includes translational research studies on mammalian test subjects. I held the responsibility of preparing and administering protein factors through the use of PCR and RNA/DNA sequencing. I am also skilled at using conjugation techniques to tag protein factors with radiolabeled antibodies. I regularly interpreted tissue samples using SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, and flow cytometry. I also have hands-on experience collecting blood specimen and urine samples from test subjects and interpreting the effects of protein factors on organ function. I have most recently gained experience in processing human tissue and blood specimens for IRB approved bio-banking research protocols as well as clinical trial protocols. Notably, I am a contributor on the NIH RECOVER PASC Autopsy Protocol.
