Rubicon Associates is a 100% Australian-owned naval architecture and marine engineering consultancy where I lead design excellence, delivering integrated solutions to complex maritime challenges across Defence, industry, and maritime asset owners. With 10+ years of hands-on experience in naval engineering, I'm passionate about delivering engineering excellence through collaborative approaches that exceed customer expectations. My career spans major RAN platforms including Hunter Class Frigates, Arafura Class OPV, Canberra Class LHD, HMAS Choules, and Leeuwin Class vessels. This deep fleet knowledge allows me to serve as design authority for complex integration projects, ensuring systems perform flawlessly in demanding maritime environments. Some of my recent project highlights include leading comprehensive engineering services for HMAS Choules RO Plant Replacement from assessment through commissioning, delivering mission-critical water systems on schedule. Another is directing 20+ engineering assessments and design packages for Bay Class Patrol Boat LOTE to extend vessel operational life. Lastly, developing ECPs across navigation, firefighting, and electrical systems while remediating ILS products for Cape Class vessels As Design and Engineering Manager, I guide our team through the complete project lifecycle—from proposal development to delivery excellence. My approach combines rigorous engineering standards with practical implementation, ensuring every project meets the highest operational requirements.
