About Matthew Mangum

Hi, I am a graduate with honors from Post University with a B.S. degree in Computer Information Systems with a focus in Software Development. I am currently an AV Control System Programmer. I configure software and install hardware and software in audio/video control systems in auditoriums and schools. As a part of my job, I developed our companies website mostly in WordPress as well as a few sections written in flat HTML, JS, and CSS including an interactive map made from scratch. I have also implanted some back-end tasks in PHP. I am also "the IT guy" of the company. When we run into technical problems in fields such as networking, video, audio, internet, Microsoft office, VOIP, web development, and so on, its my job to troubleshoot the issue and find a solution.Outside of work I spend most of my time programming computers. I especially enjoy programming embedded systems in C/C++ and have developed several projects such as a control module for a model rocket and an led controller for my car. Using a similar micro controller I also made my own HDMI encoder from scratch in Assembly code (check my GitHub). Aside from embedded programming, I also enjoy coding puzzles like Advent of Code and this year solved over 40 of the puzzles (two per day). I wrote my own website (iBuyBrokenTech) in flat HTML, JavaScript, and CSS built completely from scratch and consists of about lines of code on the frontend. The website is hosted in AWS S3 and costs only a few dollars a month to run (partially because I have very few visitors lol).Also, I am a self taught Electronics Repair technician. I mostly repair consumer electronics such as game consoles, laptops, tablets, and phones. I do board level repair such as using a soldering iron to replace HDMI ports, diagnose and place intergraded circuits, replace small components like capacitors, resistors, transistors and so on. I've been doing this since early 2020 as a side job. I use my website to buy broken electronics, then refurbish, and resell them.
