About Matthew Mondlak

For as long as I can remember, curiosity has been at the center of my priorities. From always reading as a child, to creating blueprints, and helping build hands-on projects for an entire city, I have always remained curious. As I continue my professional development, staying curious about how systems work and why is important to me. Having been a college student during the COVID-19 Pandemic and working fully remote during my first Co-Op experience with EMCOR, to now being full on-site with the City of Aurora, I have been pleasantly surprised that my curiosity is centered around the importance of working with others. Using excel to manage numbers that assist in the creation of our project helps, but the system is not complete without communication and teamwork. I have gotten the chance to cost estimate a multi-million dollar road paving project, took hand in Auroras storm management program, and helped with hundreds of residential site plans. All while working with peers to complete the job well. My knack for being curious can be shown through my personal life, as I enjoy fitness. Living a well balanced life style has shown me that consistency pays off. Wanting to understand more about how to improve performance, agility, and taking care of myself aligns with my work ethic- staying consistent and staying curious.
