Background

About Matthew Moody

With a PhD in mechanical engineering, and a solid history serving technical roles, I am eager to leverage my comprehensive academic background with my proven teaching, research, and professional experience, to continue my passion for finding novel solutions to difficult problems. Throughout my career, I have gained broad experience as a mechanical engineer with specialization in fluid dynamics. Managing full lifecycles of product development and all aspects of the design process for a multitude of products, components, parts, and systems, I also conduct testing and evaluation of theoretical designs and final product performance to improve processes and maximize system efficiencies. In addition, I have held teaching roles including course development and instruction at the University of Utah and the Instrumentation and Measurement School for the Moody Equipment Company, where I develop effective experimental, computational, and numerical research and courses in fluid-structure-interactions, turbulent flows, the flow of complex fluids, and environmental fluid mechanics areas.
