About Matthew Nash

I am currently employed at Auto-Owners Insurance as a Bodily Injury Specialist. This professional career continues to allow me to grow further in the insurance field. I have three integral experiences, which are my professional, university and military experiences. These experiences make me a perfect fit to match your company's need. While attending Ball State University, I was able to build a foundation in the insurance field. For example, I have received my UACRM. This designation exposed me to the risk management process. Furthermore, the four logical exposures are the backbone of any organizations. The four exposures are property, human resources, liability, and net income. If an organization analyzes and understands these exposures they can effectively control and finance risks. After graduating from Ball State in December 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Insurance and a Minor in Marketing, I began my career in Auto-Owners Insurance. As a Branch Claims Representative, I handle auto insurance losses with a specialization in commercial trucking. The key to this profession is customer service. I help people through a traumatic event and guide them through a process to put their lives back together which has made this career very rewarding. My service in the U.S. Army Reserve trained me to be a risk adverse individual. My experiences trained me to identify, analyze, and manage risks. For example, missions in Afghanistan required me to take several preventive measures to reduce the likelihood of a risk from occurring. These risk control measures range from personal equipment checks to reviewing routes and identifying dangerous hazards. My goal is to pursue a position in either sales or underwriting for an Insurance, financial, or marketing firm where risk management skills from my Insurance profession, military and university experiences can be utilized to further the organization’s future goals.
