About Matthew Ogus

I am a recent graduate from the University of Delaware, from which I received a bachelors of science in finance with a minor in economics. After graduating from the University of Delaware last year with a Bachelors Degree in Finance, I continued with my internship as well as continuing part time work as an assistant starter at the Hackensack Golf Club. In December I accepted a position with UBS as a client service associate. During my time at UBS, I have enhanced my inter-personal skills and strengthened my aptitude in problem-solving. My primary function is working with clients, as well as financial advisors to resolve issues within the accounts and product offerings. To be able to assist successfully, I have had to quickly build and maintain knowledge of the organization’s banking products, services and customer service policies. My experiences during undergraduate studies in finance as well as my year-long internship at a small equities firm, have given me a solid foundation for the skills necessary to successfully evaluate and analyze companies. One of my favorite courses in college focused on the financial valuation of publicly traded companies in various industries. Through financial analysis and the forecasting of cash flow we used the data to determine whether the companies were over/underpriced and whether to buy or sell their stock, which helped sharpen my excel skills. Through that course as well as my summer internship doing research and analysis of company’s derivative stock options, have helped me develop a basic knowledge of financial valuation techniques. I continue to sharpen my skills and knowledge as I study for the CFA exam. Throughout my prior employment, internship and current position at UBS, I have developed my management skills required to work well both as an individual and as part of a team in the workplace. I have extensive experience with the Microsoft Suite of applications as well as some basic programming knowledge of SQL, Java, and Javascript. I am eager to apply the knowledge, skills, and experience that I have acquired to develop and grow as a professional in the financial services industry.
