About Matthew Pacheco

I am a mechanical design engineer. My goal is employment in the aerospace industry working on satellite systems or supporting hardware. I have previous experience in space systems working for the Alaska Space Grant Program developing the first and second Alaska Research CubeSat (ARC) as a student mechanical engineer. As a professional, I worked with a team of MEs to engineer overland conveyors and chutes for mining operations. My time with ARC allowed me to gain experience with small space systems and design processes. I primarily worked with a small team composed of ME, EE, and CS students and learned how to communicate with others outside my field. In addition to working on the mechanical subsystem, I have been exposed to system planning and organization while leading the mechanical team and assisting the project manager. My time with M3 introduced me to the professional engineering world and thrust me into a different field than my university projects. I was tasked with engineering conveyors under the supervision of an ME for mining clients. Outside of developing Inventor and conveyor design skills, I worked to improve team workflow by formalizing document processes and initializing PDM for my team. I am a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate and received a AGI System Tool Kit Level 1 certification. I am also familiar with Siemens NX 10, Inventor, Solidedge, and PTC Creo 3.0. My personal interest include amateur high power rocketry, CAD, arduino based projects, space system technology, MJER Iaido, and SCUBA diving.
