About Matthew Parent

I work as the Impact and Outreach Coordinator at the Belfer Center's Project on Managing the Atom. My primary contribution is understanding MTA's current research and connecting it to the broader community of nuclear scholars and policy professionals. I also work with Prof. Matthew Bunn, helping him organize and execute his research and teaching responsibilities. In addition, I am currently writing my dissertation for a PhD in Political Science from the University of Connecticut, having completed coursework and my comprehensive exams. I have extensive experience in both active political environments as well as the academic study of political science. I focus broadly in the subfields of comparative politics and international relations. My interests more narrowly focus on nuclear security, arms control, military technology, and developments in human rights and human security. I have significant formal training in qualitative methods, particularly surrounding concept formation, process tracing, and case study research. I am also heavily involved with student life in both secondary and higher education. I often work with individuals and groups on leadership skills and organization management.
