About Matthew Pierce

Matthew Pierce is a Managing Director at Impact Trial Consulting and is based in Florida. Matthew has been writing software applications to solve unique problems for decades. This practice has taught him that planning and attention to detail are the keys to success. After all, a single misplaced semicolon can bring all the code to a screeching halt. He applies the same principals to his work at Impact. Matthew began his career in litigation support more than two decades ago. He was the founder of a nationwide litigation support consulting firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. He has logged more than 350 weeks of courtroom experience through hundreds of matters in both state and federal courts across the U.S, as an individual or leading teams of artists and technicians. He designed the first electronic brief submitted to the U.S. Court of Claims. He also creates custom applications to solve a variety of common, and unique, trial issues. Most recently he has developed the software used for DepoX™ transcript markup service, ExhibitMarker™ and SlideScribe™ products. His skills as a technical writer are leveraged as well, maintaining all of the technical documentation for these products. His expertise has been relied on by a number of multinational corporations and law firms including Cravath Swaine & Moore; Boise Schiller & Flexner; Weil, Gotshal & Manges; Johnson & Johnson; Pfizer; NCR; and American Express. Some notable cases that utilized Matthew’s expertise include Vivendi Universal, S.A. securities litigation, Barnes & Noble v. Yucaipa, and Compuware v. IBM. Matthew was also instrumental in the international case of Republic of Guyana v. Republic of Suriname that resulted in the re-drawing of the countries’ territorial boundaries.
