About Matthew Potter

I spent 5 years in the U.S. NAVY as a Calibration Technician, calibrating and repairing electrical, electronic, and other equipment. I formalized the education with an AAS degree Electronics. This pairs 5 years experience with repair of analog equipment with 2 years of analog/digital learning. My current employment involves utilizing this experience to generate the test applications and manufacture test fixtures used by the Quality Control department at large. This involves cutting and shaping plastic for handling of test fixtures, wiring up test fixtures, and designing, building, and soldering fixtures for the testing of components. Management duties include interfacing with people of other departments, determining priorities, and being aware of upcoming needs of the department. Additionally, computer science has been a hobby for more than 30 years; using, programming, and assembling computers. My experience with computers runs through the 8-bit processor era of the VIC20 and TRS-80, into DOS operating systems, early Windows operating systems up to Windows XP, and finally jumping ship into the linux environment. I have spent 15 years administrating linux LANs and programming web applications for the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) environment.
