About Matthew Preiss

I am a young, self-motivated and passionate individual who, in a short space of time, has managed to achieve a wide range of experience. I have worked part-time in the retail sector and services industry for over seven years, equipping me with various skills and the ability to work effectively with many different types of people. After completing my Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSc), I began a new and exciting career as an Analyst at Grindrod Freight Services (Capital Projects) and thereafter moved to Grindrod Logistics Africa (clearing & forwarding), where I worked as Estimator/Commercial Assistant and later as a Commercial Analyst. These diverse roles gave me exposure and in-depth knowledge of logistics operations, commercial activities and data analytics. I subsequently returned to Grindrod's head office, having joined the business development team as a project manager working on capital projects (greenfield and brownfield), mergers & acquisitions and infrastructure tenders. I am a conscientious person who works diligently and pays attention to detail, with the ability to pick up new skills and learn quickly. As a self-professed coffee enthusiast and money-geek (Investing and personal finance), much of my spare time is spent immersed in these hobbies. There is no doubt in my mind that wherever I end up in my career, I will add significant value to any organisation.
