About Matthew Ray

I have always been in the home improvement industries. Starting a lawn care business as a kid, self-employment has always been my comfort zone. I spent a small period of time in the corporate communications world at Nextel and Sprint while doing weekend home improvement projects for friends. This corporate exposure taught me business basics and after a small time, I went back to the home improvement world and being on my own. As I transitioned back into the building and remodeling business in the late 90's I bought and sold homes as well as worked in some retail home improvement tasks and larger projects. This business became know as Custom Classic Renovations. I was an active member of NARI and earned my CR designation in 2004. The remodeling business grew and eventually gave birth to the handyman division -The Home Butler. In 2005 I was asked to engage in a project involving a residential swimming pool. This project revealed shortcomings in the pool industry and a huge opportunity in the Central Ohio market. Make way for Leisure Pools of Columbus. As a result of manufacture buyouts and brand confusion we slowly rebranded to Leisure Pools and Living and continued to grow the pool division. By 2012 we had completed our last major remodeling project and took on the name Luxury Pools and Living - Ohio. As the owner of Luxury Pools, I also act as the Barrier Reef factory representative as well as overseeing the Ohio distribution yard. I am a private pilot and use my airplane to support regional Barrier Reef dealers and homeowners throughout the Great Lakes and Midwest regions as well as travel to the factory. Today all of my roles and responsibilities are performed as a team and group effort with my outstanding Columbus, Ohio based staff.
