About Matthew Rickerts

Experienced physical therapist specialized in treating orthopedic and sports injuries, running and walking gait analysis, bike fitting, sports injury risk assessment, and blending the use of technology and data with movement science into clinical practice. Graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of California, San Francisco and San Francisco State University (UCSF/SFSU) joint program in 2015, and then continued to work in a variety of orthopedic settings gaining experience and mentorship treating a variety of injuries. Found my particular passion and focus working in a biomechanics lab treating marathon/ultra runners, professional soccer players, and other athletes using technology and data to help drive better treatment decisions. When I saw how much faster patient's recovered and how much better their outcomes where, I realized this is where the field of Physical Therapy and movement science needs to go. My active lifestyle and hobbies help me relate to my patients. These include: running, biking, golfing, and baseball. My mission is to help improve the health of my patients through movement and allow them to reach their goals and desired active lifestyle!
