About Matthew Riggan

I began working as a Law Enforcement Officer in 2015. I attended, and graduated the Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy in the top 10 of my class. Community outreach, connecting with people, and helping others have always been my greatest passions in life. I began attending Faulkner University while working full-time as a police officer. While working 60+ hour weeks, multiple, jobs, and attending school, I was able to graduate Faulkner University with a 3.9 GPA. I am extremely hard-working, dedicated, and driven. I will always do everything in my power to accomplish my goals and provide the best life possible for my family. I have attended multiple training courses that have taught me the skills needed to communicate with anyone, at any time, in any given situation. I am now employed with the Jacksonville Police Department where I have become a Field Training Officer. I recently became a certified Firearms Instructor. I have experience in leadership positions, investigative positions, as well as patrolling the street. I am also a certified Strategic Self-Defense and Gunfighting Tactics Instructor. I am currently serving as the Training Coordinator for the Jacksonville Police Department.
