About Matthew Roy

I am an experienced Research Scientist/Technologist with a PhD in Immunology and a strong background in molecular biology and industrial-scale process development. I have a long history of collecting and mastering new skills driven by a breadth of interests that range from ecology to innate immunology, fieldwork to bench work, natural history to immune cell signaling, transects and quadrats to tissue culture. I am both capable and comfortable in the dirt or in the cleanroom, at the bench, the conference table or at the podium. Passionate and purpose-driven, I flourish when the goals of the group are guided by a shared curiosity and the desire to be impactful and affect great change. I thrive in a strong team environment where I have both the opportunity to lead and to grow through effective leadership. I am a scientist. I am a generalist, a factotum, a musician, a mechanic, a team director, a logistics coordinator, a cartophile, an ultra-endurance cyclist, a traveler, a hiker, a camper, a photographer, a bird nerd, a husband.
