About Matthew Ryan

In my 6 years working in the motor lubricants industry at TOP1 Oil Products Company, I spent much of my time traveling to SE Asia to meet with customers. My primary responsibility was to make sure all of the customers were satisfied with their current product and introduce new products the company had developed. When working in the USA, I was responsible for keeping track of product data, including quality control specifications, formulations, total sales, etc. all done using Microsoft Excel. I also met with business associates to help manage company dynamics.Since I earned a BS in chemical engineering at UCSB '10, I decided I wanted to experience work as an engineer. I moved to San Diego to work as an Engineering Technician IV for the Navy in the oil lab at Naval Base San Diego. In my 5 years there, I tested oil samples from Navy ships and aircraft to make sure the oil properties met the required specifications. Now, I work as the Technical Manager for TOP1 Oil Products Company again. In the past year I have been responsible for managing the technical data we get from our suppliers all over the world, but mainly the USA, China, and Indonesia.
