About Matthew Sevier

My background includes a bachelor of psychology from the University of Western Australia, which has deepened my understanding of human behaviour, mental health, leadership qualities, and effective support strategies. Additionally, my passions include mechanical engineering and industrial design. I am currently pursuing a graduate diploma in professional engineering at Curtin University. As a registered positive behaviour support practitioner, and with previous roles as a specialist support coordinator and support worker, I hold 4 years of experience within in the community services sector. I am passionate about empowering individuals to achieve greater independence and well-being. As a positive behaviour support practitioner, my role demands important qualities: time management, communication, writing skills, NDIS experience, and a tertiary-level understanding of psychosocial needs. My current day-to-day includes- Developing interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans - Conducting psychometric and behavioural assessments - Creating resources (Office 365 suite, training materials, echidna software, PRODA, SharePoint etc.)- Risk assessments - MDT meetings - Support staff/MDT training - Client meetings (psychosocial & behavioural support) My current I am skilled at fostering communication, navigating challenges, and creating individualised plans that help participants thrive in their communities. Driven by a commitment to client-focused care, my focus is to build strong relationships, promote independence, and advocate optimal outcomes for those I support.
