About Matthew Shepherd

I’m a practice-based accountant with 3 years of experience helping contractors manage their finances in the most tax-efficient way possible. From year-end accounts and self-assessments to payroll, VAT, and bookkeeping reviews — I handle the full accounting cycle with precision and care.Currently AATQB and studying AAT Level 4, I’m certified in FreeAgent and have experience with Xero. I thrive on solving problems that aren't obvious at first glance and believe the best work comes from going beyond the checklist. What sets me apart? I approach client businesses as if they were my own. I appreciate what it takes to build something from scratch — which means I don’t just “complete tasks,” I ask, what’s the most strategic and efficient way to do this for the client? My long-term goal is to work my way to the top of a forward-thinking firm, then eventually launch my own practice. I’m always looking to join a growing firm in the NW where I can contribute value from day one, keep raising the bar, and evolve into a senior leadership role.If you're looking for someone who combines technical competence, client rapport, and an entrepreneurial drive — I’d love to connect.
