About Matthew Sidon

As Junior Engineer with Empire Controls, I was involved in the planning, programming, commissioning and servicing of building controls including DDC systems. I also serviced and provided ongoing enhancements for a large installed base of DDC Building Automation Systems, focusing on Johnson Controls FX line. I was involved in several projects at different stages of development, from new construction of condominiums and schools to upgrading buildings that have been in operation for a couple decades. My position as Project Manager at Starquip involved me in the design, modification and on-site commissioning of custom material handling solutions that assist operators with industrial lifting, handling, and workstation issues. I worked with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic systems, focusing on providing complete ergonomic solutions through the use of design, specialized manufacturing, and turnkey installations. I provided ongoing engineering support to clients, and have demonstrated leadership skills motivating and coordinating coworkers, contractors and vendors. My professional interest lies in design work and applied mechanics, as I enjoy utilizing hands-on approaches and field work.
