About Matthew Simberg

My lifelong ambition has always been to help people in any way I could. I always had an awareness that I wanted to be a catalyst for positive change in whatever avenue that opportunity would present itself. Through years of positive interaction with children and families, I began to realize that my vision would center around creating opportunities for children and families to be responsible for enriching their own individual lives through the use of Dr. Maria Montessori's pedagogy. In 2006, I joined the Montessori Academy in Delran, NJ as an Elementary Teacher for children ages 6-12. During my tenure, I worked closely with my students, co-teachers and parent community to provide a dynamic, hands-on and integrated educational experience, that instilled an engaging and well-rounded lifelong love of learning. In 2007, I implemented the participation of the Montessori Model United Nations Program for the Montessori Academy. This experience grew to become a cornerstone of the Upper Elementary curriculum. This program allows upper elementary students to take on ambassadorial roles in a Model UN simulation. Participants have the opportunity to work with students from around the world, learning how the international community acts on its concerns about peace and security, human rights, the rights of the child, child labor, the environment, food and hunger, economic development and globalization. In 2011, parents requested an adolescent program and I created it while successfully teaching elementary. This program grew to include specialty curriculums with outside resources in the areas of science, mathematics, and foreign language. In 2014, with the support of a passionate parent community, I am realizing my lifelong dream of opening a school that provides an authentic Montessori experience, while I continue to grow as a Skilled Observer, Creative Facilitator, and Character Builder. I am now Head of School at Montessori Seeds of Education.
