About Matthew Sims

I’m an experienced and people-focused school leader with a strong belief that positive relationships, clear values and inclusive practice sit at the heart of building great communities. Throughout my career, I’ve combined strategic leadership with hands-on pastoral care, always striving to create environments where both pupils and staff feel safe, valued and inspired to grow.My experience spans Deputy Headship, curriculum and subject leadership, safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion — including SLT responsibility in 3 different and varying schools. I’m currently studying for the NPQ in SENCO to further deepen my knowledge in inclusive practice. I also hold the NPQH, equipping me with the strategic and operational understanding to lead with vision, clarity and impact. At home, life is active, joyful and full of learning — shared with two sporty teenagers who keep me on my toes. I used to ride horses with my daughter, though these days I’m more often found holding the lead rein and cheering her on. I play golf with my son and quietly hope to keep my skills just ahead of his — for now, at least! All of it shared with one brilliant partner who is my wife, teammate and closest friend.
