About Matthew Steinwert

Matthew Steinwert currently works as a Senior Health Analyst for UC Davis Health. In his current position he acts as the senior data/analytics engineer for the population health data warehouses. He designs and develops data warehouses and ETL pipelines that allow for for identification of high risk populations for targeted intervention. He also advises In the development of new BI solutions and data automation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of future analytics. Prior to working with UC Davis, Mr. Steinwert was the Chief of the Program Data Section for the California Department of Health Care Services, Managed Care Quality Monitoring Division. In this position he managed three teams of Data Analyst and Data Specialist. Two of his teams focused on insuring the intake of quality managed care encounter and provider data. His third team developed the Managed Care Quality Monitoring Division's business intelligence tools. Matthew Steinwert received his B.A. and M.A. in Psychology at CSU, Sacramento. His studies focused in quantitative methods. While at CSU, Sacramento he worked on research in Clinical, Social, and Quantitative Psychology. His research interests now focus on data management and reporting in the health care industry.
