About Matthew Storey

As a Senior Special Agent at Office of the Kansas Securities Commissioner, I am responsible for investigating felony violations of the Kansas Uniform Securities Act. I also assist as needed on insurance fraud cases for the Kansas Insurance Department and participate in the Kansas City Metro Insurance Fraud Task Force. I have over two years of experience in this role with continued expansion of my formal education by pursuing a Master's degree in Criminal Justice with a focus on Cybercrime Investigations from Liberty University. I am an active participant in the Crypto Coalition, NASAA, and a state level cryptocurrency working group. I have a strong background in law enforcement, security, and intelligence, having served as a Police Officer, a Claims Specialist, and an Infantryman in the US Army. I am a CPOST Certified Law Enforcement Officer, a Certified Glock Armorer, a Crypto Investigations Certification holder from TRM, and a Certified Cyber Crime Investigator. I have skills in manufacturing process improvement, candor, and communication. My mission is to protect the public from financial crimes and cyber threats, and to uphold the law with integrity and professionalism.
