About Matthew Teferra

My name is Matthew Teferra. I am a graduate the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. In the Fall of 2015, I began working with Toyota Engineering and Manufacturing. Working in Quality exposed me to many different aspects of manufacturing. I analyzed warranty data for the different vehicles, statically and dynamically tested new model vehicles, and I conducted and led an investigation on a high warranty part. Upon completion, I reported my findings to executives, and my process of investigation became the standard they now use for warranty investigations. I was able to standardize the way that an Executive Level Warranty trend report was created and use reporting to request and receive funds for a high priority warranty issue. During the 2014-2015 school year, I worked as a Mentor for the Equal Opportunity in Engineering (EOE) program at UT, and as an intern for the Parking and Transportation department. As an EOE mentor, I facilitated weekly meetings for freshman and assisted my mentees throughout their first year in college academically and personally. As an intern I analyzed data from the parking meters and displayed that data in excel spreadsheets, reporting any oddities that I encountered along the way. Throughout these different experiences, I was able to develop my interpersonal, communication, technical, problem solving, and management skills. I feel like I thrive in sink or swim situations, and I attribute that to my positive attitude, the way that I prioritize my responsibilities, and how I attack different situations.
