About Matthew Thorne

My professional experiences through pro bono work at Bristol Law Centre, National Service in the Finnish Defence Forces, and in the fitness and leisure industry, have ensured I have developed a versatile skillset. I work well in high pressure environments that require effective interpersonal skills working to strict deadlines. I commenced my studies at The University of the West of England with the aim of securing a Business Management Degree, however during my Foundation Year I developed a keen interest in studying law and came to thoroughly enjoy understanding the process of how English law developed over time in both statute and common law. Consequently, I made the decision to transfer to a law degree. I found a particular interest in banking and financial law, and subsequently went on to explore this further by attaining a Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance Law from the University of Bristol. My studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate level demonstrate my ability to not only learn and understand complex areas of law, but to also think critically about them.
