About Matthew Thrum

A passionate and ambitious urban professional, Matt has been responsible for the delivery of a range of high profile residential, commercial and mixed-use projects, gaining experience completing projects for clients in both the public and private sector, including concentrated experience in rezoning and land use change. He strives to stay on top of a constantly shifting policy landscape and to distil and unpack key outcomes of changes to the planning system, featuring as an emerging thought leader in the Sydney Morning Herald, London Financial Times, ABC Sydney, the Urban Icon Magazine and the New Planner Journal on several occasions. Matt holds a Bachelor of City Planning with First Class Honours and was awarded the University Medal, maintaining a High Distinction Average in his time at university. Matt also received the John Shaw Memorial Prize for the Best Thesis and the Hans Westerman Prize for the best performance in Year 1 of the Bachelor of City Planning. Matt also leads the Ethos Urban Digital Strategy Committee, bringing energy and knowledge to the pursuit of technology implementation within the planning space.
