About Matthew Tyler

I enjoy simplifying any complexity into coherent actionable design systems that edify. For the past three years, I’ve thrived as a Technical Service Engineer Representative at Pure Storage, working hands-on with FlashArray™, FlashBlade®, and Portworx®. Experience which gives me deep linguistic fluency and technical trouble shooting capacity. I have direct insight into how customers, sellers, and partners actually adopt data solutions, maintain them, and explain them to others. Along the way, I completed multiple Pure certification trainings: for FlashBlade and FlashArray Implementation Specialist (Charter) and built a reputation for clear communication to solving real customer challenges, implement cross-team functional collaboration, and elevate different teams. My educational skills go deeper. Before joining the Pure Storage team, I spent more than two decades in education, curriculum development, and media production: —Left high school in tenth grade in order to graduate on my own by obtaining my diploma through self-schooling. —Founded and directed a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit (Rivir Academy), building original curriculum, training teachers, and managing international programs. —Developed an innovative pedagogy at BYU, with a grant from the Humanities Chair, to update their student body writing courses for adoption across the university. —Taught English in China for three years, developing curricula for rural and diaspora students. —Returned to the U.S.A to teach Chinese language and history, created lesson plans, and mentored students also for three years. —Produced professional training videos and multimedia content: from scripting to editing. —Published research (including first-of-its-kind genealogical findings from mainland China) and delivered multiple conference talks, including at RootsTech 2020. I am now positioned with a blend of enterprise technical depth and proven curriculum design + creative media skills.
