As a Correctional Sergeant at Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC), I supervise and mentor a team of correctional officers, ensuring the safety and security of the facility. I ensure all department policies are being followed as well as all documents and reports are correctly filled out. Before returning to being a Correctional Sergeant, I was a Recruitment and Retention Coordinator at IDOC, where I recruited, trained, and retained qualified candidates for various positions in the public safety industry. I used my expertise in law enforcement/corrections to attract and educate potential applicants, as well as my proficiency in Microsoft Office to create and manage databases, reports, and presentations.
