About Matthew Walch

I am a graduate of Michigan State University with a B. Sc. in Biosystems Engineering. Currently, I reside in Madison, Wisconsin where I work at a cGMP compliant biomanufacturing facility associated with the University of Wisconsin's Waisman Center. I perform process development and scale up for a variety of biotherapeutics and vaccine candidates, as well as leading manufacturing campaigns and internal projects. I have extensive experience in cell culture, fermentation and other aseptic techniques. I have worked with and developed protein purification schemes using a range of traditional chromatography resins and more unique techniques. While at Michigan State as a student I worked as a Research Assistant in the MSU Food Safety and Processing Laboratory. I assisted graduate students and professors in their work into food-borne pathogens; over time I advanced to running experiments and helping with the design of new equipment and techniques. In my personal time I greatly enjoy brewing my own beer, watching sports (especially MSU football and the Green Bay Packers) and spending time outdoors hiking and biking.
