About Matthew Walker

I am a MedTech Writer, Lead Auditor, and Risk Management specialist with nearly a decade of experience helping medical device companies navigate global regulations. My work spans 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, EU MDR, MDSAP, and related standards, with a strong focus on risk management and human factors engineering documentation. My career began in public safety as a Firefighter/EMT and Training Officer, where I developed a foundation in emergency response, safety, and instruction. After medically retiring, I transitioned into industrial safety consulting and eventually regulatory consulting with Medical Device Academy, where I’ve supported technical writing, quality management, and regulatory submissions since 2016. I hold a B.A. in Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations (Summa Cum Laude, 4.0 GPA) and an A.S. in Fire Science with Honors. I belong to the Omega Nu Lamba, Alpha Sigma Lambda, and Omicron Sigma Sigma Order of the Sword and Shield honor societies. Alongside my MedTech work, I actively develop my digital forensics and cybersecurity skills through DFIR projects, community engagement, and my content platform, The Cyber Cauldron DFIR Lab. I’m also co-founder of Boarding Axe Kitchen, a Vermont nonprofit with a punk ethos dedicated to reducing food insecurity — blending professional expertise with a personal commitment to community.
