About Matthew Walkey

I have been employed within the insurance industry since 2006 in Massachusetts. I am currently Senior personal lines underwriting representative at Safety Insurance which I was promoted to in March of 2020. I have been an underwriter since October of 2014 and preceding this position, I worked in the premium accounting department as a billing analyst for 4 years also at Safety. I was a personal lines insurance producer for 4 years at A-Affordable Insurance agency earlier in my carrier as well. I also worked as a Realtor at Keller Williams and a food server/bartender at Bertucci's restaurant for over 10 years. I have developed diverse communication and active listening skills along the way and am easily teachable. Additionally, I have advanced my conflict resolution skills while in these various positions.I achieved my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts/General education with a concentration in communication essentials at SNHU in 2023. This finished what I began when I took classes at North shore Community College and Marian Court College years prior.While in the insurance industry, I obtained my Massachusetts P and C producer’s license and have completed some CPCU exams which I am planning on completing by 2024. Prior to starting my career in insurance, I achieved my MA real estate sales license. I have continued to move up the ladder at my current organization and plan to continue to do so moving forward by earning more professional designations and learning new, relevant skills within the industry.
